Main features

UV disinfection is a physical process that neutralizes microorganisms instantly when they pass through the ultraviolet lamps submerged in the effluent. The process does not add anything to the water except UV light and therefore has no impact on the chemical composition or dissolved oxygen content in the water. In this respect, compliance with the increasingly stringent regulations for the discharge of wastewater is ensured.

Advantages of UV
The adoption of ultraviolet light for the disinfection of waste water has grown significantly in recent decades. Today, more than twenty percent of North American wastewater treatment plants employ this technology, which is environmentally friendly. Thousands of municipalities have switched from chemical based disinfection, such as chlorine gas, to UV because of the important safety advantages for their communities, plant operators and local water supply.
